Food Storage & Freezer Planner is a source-transparent food-storage reference and a private, browser-based planning toolkit. It helps you find official storage guidance, calculate honestly-labeled dates, freeze and thaw food properly, and keep track of what is in your freezer — without pretending that a website can determine whether your food is safe.
What this site does
- Summarizes official guidance (USDA FSIS, FDA, FoodSafety.gov, EFSA, UK FSA) with the jurisdiction, source, and conditions shown on every result.
- Labels every duration as one of four types — safety guidance, best quality, manufacturer date, or personal plan — and never collapses them into one “expiry date.”
- Provides planning tools (labels, inventory, leftover and thawing planners) that run entirely in your browser.
What this site never does
- It never guarantees food is safe, and never judges safety from photos, smell, or appearance.
- It never extends a use-by date, averages conflicting regional guidance, or invents dates you don’t know.
- It never gives individualized medical advice. For pregnancy, weakened immunity, infants, or medical conditions, follow the official clinical guidance for your situation.
