The freezer inventory, temperature log, region preference, and label drafts are stored in your browser’s local storage, on this device, under this site’s origin. Nothing is uploaded; there is no account and no server-side database.
What this means in practice
- Privacy: your data never leaves the device unless you export it yourself.
- Per-device: the inventory on your phone and your laptop are separate. There is no sync in this version.
- Fragility: clearing browser data, private-browsing mode, or some “free up space” cleaners can delete it. Export a JSON backup regularly from the inventory page.
Backups
The inventory exports JSON (complete, re-importable) and CSV (for spreadsheets), and imports its own JSON backups, skipping duplicates. The temperature log exports CSV.
